Ezra is just one of my Australian Shepherds I am training for show, competitive events and to become a therapy dog. I have been raising and breeding dogs for a couple decades, I am passionate about all animals but there is just something about a dog!
I am a certified trainer in basic obedience, advanced obedience, core fundamentals and canine behaviors. I am currently completing my masterclass for service dog training.
I believe in the teach a man to fish theory when it comes to dog training...which means, "train the human, not the dog"! If we train your dog in your own environment, I am giving you more than a trained a dog...I am giving you my toolbelt of skills for you to utilize for the life of your dog. Training builds trust and manners, creates a bond, teaches your dog who the pack leader is...doing this in their own environment with their owner makes a huge difference in the lasting results!
I was raised around all types of animals from dogs and cats to rabbits, chickens, ducks, cows, goats and horses...but there is just something about a dog!
I don't think there was ever a time in my life I didn't have a dog or multiple dogs in my home. Speaking dog language always came naturally to me and my bond with dogs has always run very deep.
I began breeding Yorkies and Biewers back in 2012 and I had 3 boys and 3 girls in my home under my feet at all times. This was my pack! Breeding gave me a whole different connection with my dogs and provided me a learning curve I never would have gotten without it.
Watching how the Dam and the Sire interacted with the pups, taught them right from wrong through their energy, body language and silent corrections gave me a whole new outlook on how dogs communicate with each other. Learning this through my breeding taught me how to better communicate on a dogs level instead of a human level.
Training my own dogs and puppies from birth has provided me with knowledge that other trainers don't have.
Outside of learning how to communicate with a dog from my own experience and being taught by my own breeding dogs...I did go through training programs!
I received certification in basic obedience, advanced obedience, core fundamentals, and canine behaviors. The company I chose to get certified through is in the military training field. The owner was in the Air Force in the K9 division and taught the K9 cadets to assist the men in battle.
The amount of focus it takes to teach a military dog is beyond anything you could ever imagine. These dogs far surpass the obedience levels we need from our family pets, which is why I decided to take my certification from this kind of trainer.
I have also worked with and under AKC trainers and judges for show and competitive events. In entering into the show ring with my own dogs, this is knowledge and training I have to have in order to be the "handler" during competitions. This is a completely different style of training and gives me a competitive edge on other trainers with basic training knowledge.
I am also in the midst of completing my masterclass for service dog training.
